PATNA: Bihar CM and JD(U) boss
on Monday said he has full faith that the
ongoing CBI investigation
Sushant Singh Rajput
death case would ensure justice to people.
Kick-starting JD(U)’s campaign for the
forthcoming Bihar assembly polls
through his maiden virtual rally from the party’s state office here, Nitish further said, “There will be a sense of contentment among people after they will get justice in the SSR death case.”
Earlier while referring to the transfer of
’s FIR to the CBI for further investigation, Nitish said the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput did not only affect his family and the people of Bihar, but also crores of people in the entire country. “Kewal Unka Family aur Bihar Nahi,
Poora Desh Prabhavit
tha (iss) Sushant case se,” the JD(U) president said.
“A large number of people from across the country showed their affinity and love with the actor but we saw what was going (in the death case),” Bihar CM said while referring to the alleged
without taking the name of anyone.
“The way the case should have been probed was not being done.
That is why when we got an opportunity; we launched an investigation immediately (by Patna Police). Later, the case was recommended to the CBI for further investigation with the consent of Sushant’s father on August 4. The CBI took up the investigation on August 5,” Nitish said while addressing the party workers.
The JD(U) chief further said the Supreme Court also vetted the CBI probe in the case. “I have complete faith that the CBI investigation will ensure justice in the case,” he said.
The assembly polls in Bihar are due in the month of October-November. The SSR death case has now turned out as an emotive issue ahead of the election in Bihar. All major political parties including the BJP, JD(U), RJD and the LJP have time and again been raising the issues related to the SSR death case. Certain parties appear to take political mileage out of the case ahead of the polls.
RJD’s senior leader Tejashwi Prasad Yadav recently said that it was he who first demanded a CBI probe into the SSR death case. “A delegation of the RJD leaders first went to meet Sushant’s father at his Patna residence and demanded a CBI probe into his mysterious death,” Tejashwi said a few days back.
